Tour Itinerary
Your day will begin with an early morning transfer from your hotel in Cairo to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will meet your private Egyptologist guide who will accompany you throughout the day as you explore Luxor’s most iconic historical sites.
Valley of the Kings:
Located on the west bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings was the burial place of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs between 1570 BC and 1050 BC. The valley is home to more than 60 royal tombs, including those of Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Seti I, and other legendary rulers. The beautifully decorated tombs provide a fascinating insight into the beliefs and traditions of Ancient Egypt.
Temple of Hatshepsut:
You will then visit the remarkable Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most impressive architectural masterpieces of Ancient Egypt. Built in honour of one of Egypt’s most successful female pharaohs, the temple stands dramatically against the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari and was dedicated to the god Amun.
Colossi of Memnon:
Continue your tour with a stop at the famous Colossi of Memnon, two enormous stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III dating back to around 1350 BC. These iconic monuments have stood guard over the Theban necropolis for thousands of years and remain one of Luxor’s best-known landmarks.
Lunch & Nile Boat Trip:
After the morning sightseeing, you will enjoy lunch on an island restaurant. The tour also includes a relaxing boat ride across the Nile River before continuing to the east bank of Luxor.
Karnak Temple Complex:
Your final visit will be to the extraordinary Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest religious sites ever constructed. Built and expanded over many centuries, Karnak was dedicated primarily to the god Amun and features magnificent halls, giant columns, sacred chapels, and impressive obelisks that reflect the grandeur of Ancient Egyptian civilisation.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your return flight to Cairo, where you will then be driven back to your hotel.
