Walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes to enter the complex, while your guide explains how the massive façade was built. As you enter the Temples of Karnak, you will see every legacy left by the various pharaohs as the complex grew even larger.

The deeper you delve into the complex, the further back in time you travel. The oldest ruins date back over 3,000 years. As you walk through the Great Court into the Great Hypostyle Hall, it’s hard not to be overwhelmed by the 134 columns that rise above you like an ancient forest. At the back of the complex is the sacred lake, where pharaohs and their offerings to the gods were purified centuries ago. After a tour of the complex, you will have additional time to explore the area at your leisure.

Continue to the Luxor Temple, which was once connected to the Temples of Karnak by a 2- kilometer-long Avenue of Sphinxes, part of which marks the entrance to the temple. Dominated by statues of the great warrior pharaoh Ramses II, Luxor Temple has survived the Nile floods and foreign invasions, while being exposed to the elements for millennia. A purely Egyptian temple, its inner walls and columns are adorned with intricate hieroglyphs that your guide will help you decipher. Find out how Alexander the Great inscribed himself in the history of Luxor Temple, and see one of the original pairs of obelisks, the second of which now stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris.

This is a private tour, allowing you to determine the time you wish to spend at each of the temples during the tour.

Spend an afternoon with your Egyptologist guide on a private tour of Luxor’s East Bank to see two
of the most impressive temples in Upper Egypt: Karnak and Luxor Temples.

[46

0":"post-4211","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"brw_tour_types-beaches","7":"brw_tour_types-culture","8":"brw_tour_types-family","9":"product_cat-temple","11":"first","12":"instock","13":"shipping-taxable","14":"purchasable","15":"product-type-ovabrw_car_rental","16":"add-to-wishlist-after_add_to_cart
["GET
